act-naturally asked: I'm not upset by the nominations. I think Cars 2 was a bit of a step back- especially considering all the notions espoused in "A Pixar Story" about telling new stories to kids AND adults. In the long run, Cars 2 just does not stack up to this year's other nominees, nor does it stack up to previous year's Pixar wins. Perhaps Pixar is held to a higher standard and the Academy is holding them there, but that is a good thing.

Of course Cars 2 wasn’t getting anything but the Puss in Boots nomination is a joke. That film is not Oscar worthy, sorry not sorry. Winnie the Pooh is the unfortunate oversight in this case. And IMHO, Rango is not that special either.
