pixar-dreamer asked: Not upset or anything, but actually, there's not much in the animation category this year. Think about it. Cars 2, KFP 2, Puss In Boots, Tintin, Rango. I admit, I myself think that KFP 2 should've been nominated instead of Puss In Boots, but have you seen Puss In Boots? I haven't. I'm not judging. Cars 2, the animation was great, but the story? Not the best by Pixar. KFP 2's animation was great too. Tintin & Rango both have great animation. So who's to judge?

I have seen Puss in Boots. It doesn’t deserve the nod over something like Winnie the Pooh, which had a delightful escapist story, and breathtaking traditional animation. Figured the Academy cares more about 3D pomp. And if Cars 2 had great animation but not story, what makes that okay about Rango or Puss in Boots? And it doesn’t matter if the animation is great, unless the story is there, the film is nothing. Rango was incredibly slow and did not have the emotional or engaging quality of either Pooh or something like Arthur Christmas.
